Eli ★★★★★

The side-by-side translation notes for MOTHER 2 are the whole reason I bought this, and they don't disappoint — seeing exactly what got changed for the English release is fascinating. It's a slim companion, but it's dense with detail and pairs perfectly with the main EarthBound book.

Edward ★★★★★

I picked this up after finishing the EarthBound companion book, and it's the perfect way to finally dig into MOTHER 2 in Japanese. The side-by-side comparisons of the original script versus the localization choices are genuinely eye-opening, especially for the naming changes I never noticed.

Carter C. ★★★☆☆

It's a decent companion if you're already deep into MOTHER 2, but honestly it leans too hard on the original EarthBound book. I wanted more standalone context on the Japanese version and got a lot of cross-referencing instead. The translation comparisons are solid, just not enough on their own.
