The essays from developers outside the games industry were the real surprise here — I expected fluff and got genuine insight into how they approach creative work. The print quality on the artwork is stunning too, heavy paper that actually does the illustrations justice.
I bought this mainly for the artwork and ended up reading every essay cover to cover. The paper stock is thick and the print quality makes the illustrations really pop. It's the kind of book you leave out on the coffee table just so guests pick it up.
The interviews with industry legends are incredibly insightful, and the artwork is absolutely stunning on every page. This issue captures the magic of game development perfectly.
