A practical FAQ on the UNDERTALE Complete Vinyl Soundtrack Box Set: what the 5-LP set includes, how the 109 tracks are arranged, and how to set up your turntable for a clean listen.
Quick answer
The UNDERTALE Complete Vinyl Soundtrack Box Set gives you all 109 tracks across five LPs, newly remastered and packaged with new illustrations and liner notes. To play it, treat it like any quality vinyl box set: set up your turntable correctly, keep the records clean, and flip or swap discs in the order printed on the labels.
Why five LPs change how you listen
A 109-track soundtrack cannot fit on one or two records without cramming the grooves and sacrificing sound quality. Spreading the music across five LPs lets each side hold a reasonable number of tracks, which usually means louder cuts and less inner-groove distortion. The trade-off is more frequent record changes: expect to flip or swap discs several times during a full listen. Think of it as a listening session rather than background music.
What the remaster and extras actually add
The set is newly remastered for vinyl, curated by Toby Fox, and includes new illustrations by ADE plus liner notes from Toby Fox, Alex Rosetti, ADE, and Go Ichinose. Those extras are part of the package, not separate downloads. The remaster matters most on a revealing system; on a basic setup you may notice it more as smoother high end and less surface noise than as a dramatic change.
UNDERTALE vinyl setup and playback FAQ
- What do I need to play the UNDERTALE vinyl box set?
- A turntable with a phono preamp (built-in or separate), an amplifier or powered speakers, and a clean, level surface. If your turntable lacks a built-in preamp, you will need a standalone phono stage between the turntable and your amp. Check your turntable's specs for a built-in phono preamp before buying anything else.
- How should I set up the turntable for a box set like this?
- Place the turntable on a stable shelf away from speakers. Set the tracking force and anti-skate to the cartridge manufacturer's recommended values, and make sure the turntable is level. A properly aligned cartridge reduces wear on the records and tracks the grooves more accurately. A small bubble level and a tracking-force gauge are cheap insurance for any multi-LP set.
- How do I keep track of which disc is which?
- The box set labels each LP, and the track list follows the original soundtrack order. Keep the records in their inner sleeves when not playing them, and return each disc to its slot after use. Taking a photo of the track list on your phone makes it easy to follow along without handling the packaging mid-session. Store the box upright and away from direct sunlight to prevent warping.
- Do I need to clean the records before the first play?
- New records can carry manufacturing residue, so a quick brush with a carbon-fiber record brush before each side is a good habit. For a deeper clean, use a record-cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth, following the product instructions. Clean records sound better and put less wear on your stylus. Clean both the record and the stylus regularly; a dirty stylus damages grooves.
- How do I play the digital download?
- The set includes an instant digital download, typically delivered as a code or link with your purchase. Redeem it on the provider's site, then download the files to your computer or phone. Use the digital version for casual listening and keep the vinyl for dedicated sessions. Download and back up the files soon after purchase so you don't lose access.
